Re: Why Faith Isn't a Reliable Pathway to Determine the Truth

@SEG I. Water isn't existing as three states at the same time as in: liquid is also solid and gas. Solid is also liquid and gas. Gas is also liquid and solid. II. Water is existing in three distinct states separately at the same time. I draw an analogy between water and God, meaning a comparison bet...

Re: Jesus the hypocrite should have thrown the first stone

Before we move on to that, was Jesus merciful to the adulterous woman by giving her time, and the possibility to arrive at repentance and holiness, if she wished to reach them? That's like asking was Hitler merciful by giving Jews time. You are ignoring the horrors of Jesus and Hitler as the origin...

Re: Jesus the hypocrite should have thrown the first stone

You say Jesus should've stoned her to death in that moment. It would've been justice because she sinned, and was unrepentant, and He could've, but it would not have been mercy. Stop putting words in my mouth! You need to understand there's more than one way to say something. If God is slow to anger...

Re: Jesus the hypocrite should have thrown the first stone

If death is just for those unrepentant of their sins against God, and this was the situation, why didn't he stone her? There was no evidence that she was repentant. While the Law says adulterers and adulteresses should be put to death, it doesn't say God can't be merciful. The adulterous woman brou...

Re: Jesus the hypocrite should have thrown the first stone

So you do think stoning was a just punishment. Your god can do no wrong, even when he prescibes the cruelest of punishments. That is sick thinking. Death is just for those unrepentant of their sins against God. And, while the Law says adulterers and adulteresses are to be put to death, it doesn't s...

Re: Jesus the hypocrite should have thrown the first stone

Did he or did he not make up this cruel law? Again, Jesus confirmed the Law when he said those without sin should throw the stones. So you agree that this cruel punishment that he made up was just? Death is just for those unrepentant of their sins against God. And, while the Law says adulterers and...

No I didn't!
You said Jesus should've had respect for his own law, meaning He should've stoned her to death, and it would've been just, but it would not have been merciful. So, you wanted Him to be unmerciful.

Are you not paying attention? I've told you multiple times Jesus could've stoned her to death, and it would've been justice, but it would not have been mercy.

Re: Jesus the hypocrite should have thrown the first stone

SEG wrote:Correct. This proves Jesus was inconsistent and a hypocrite.
Not at all, for reasons explained. You wanted Jesus to stone her death, and therefore wanted Him to be unmerciful.

Re: Jesus the hypocrite should have thrown the first stone

Yet, you said Jesus should've stoned her to death. I didn't say that, but if he was consistent he should have had respect for his own law.... That's another way of saying Jesus should've stoned her to death, but it would not have been mercy. Why did he wish to violate his own law like a hypocrite? ...
