Cake

Postby tirtlegrrl » Wed Oct 14, 2009 8:17 pm

So hubby took it upon himself to bake me a birthday cake while I was at rehearsal for the Bach B minor mass tonight. Only he left the eggs out of the cake batter and used whole eggs in the meringue-based frosting instead of egg whites. And we had no candles. So bummer! But the pizza we had at Pizza Hut was good!

You know, when this sort of thing happens, it often makes for better memories than if everything went right.

Happy Birthday!

Your mention of the Mass in B Minor reminded me of the "Stryper episode" (because that is its official name). We should totally lobby for the Kyrie to be used as the bumper for at least one episode, and perhaps the Agnus Dei as the outro.

Happy Birthday tirtlegrrl!

My daughter's last birthday, she wanted to use marshmallow creme for the filling and frosting. I said, "why not?" Well, I'll tell you why not--the top layer of the cake would not stay on top and insisted on sliding every whichaway. By the time we had given up on making it work, the whole thing was a mess. So we cut it up into cubes, put it in a trifle dish with extra marshmallow creme on top, and stuck the candles in wherever they would sort of stand up. It was yummy though!

I agree with Pseudo, sometimes the best memories happen when things go awry. Glad the pizza was good!
