Just came across this in some reading:

“Many a man proclaims his own steadfast love, but a faithful man who can find?”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭20:6‬ ‭ESV

Pretty on point I think. I'm sure guilty of it too.

Taking my time on my ride.

I assume he means the ride of life. We will all die.
Take time to enjoy life while it is here.

Yeah, I'm not sure actually. Your theory sounds good to me. I'm thinking though that when he says I'm falling it's calling the the message that's often found in music about what we'd do or give up for someone because we love them that much (I have Coldplay's Yellow in mind (another great song!!)) to the floor and asking well if we really love people that much then why don't we love them in all that we do, in all the small ways? And I think that's what he means by taking my time on my ride, he's taking the time to make sure he's actually there for people day by day, serving in the small ways that count and not just sitting around fantasizing and thinking about and singing about dying for people. Like Rian said, it's harder to live for someone than die for them, which I'm not sure I agree with entirely (I'm thinking of Jesus' statement about the greatest love we can show), but I do like what it draws out, that is that if we really love someone then we ought to love them all the time, not just at the end. This other thing is really just self worship I think, we are in love with ourselves, with how great we imagine ourselves to be to die for someone, but it's just a fantasy, what about real life? What about daily dying to self and taking the trash out or making lunch for your kids so your wife doesn't have to, whatever, just actually thinking about others and doing something nice because the love of God is springing out of your reservoir. Lol, you really got me going.... :-D

That makes more sense and is more consistent with the rest of the song.

Thos are both good fun tunes.

I have found that the VH1 90's countdowns are good for some fun songs to jam to. Lol

Haha, I used to listen to this all the time in college. Reminds me of growing up.

Ah, music. Finally, a god worth worshiping. Let's see---

Not everyone's cup of tea, but Janis gave the performance of her life right here. This one still knocks me out---

Hi all, I was listening to this last night and I thought I'd throw it at you. It's a cut from the amazing classic album "Trout Mask Replica" by Don Van Vleit, aka Captain Beefheart, and released in 1969. Speaking as a musician, this is absolutely genius, nothing before or after has ever sounded like this. The song is titled "When Big Joan Sets Up."

Aaron---Did you post a link to this song awhile back? Seems like somebody did but maybe I'm just misremembering. I know pretty much nothing about those guys other than they recorded this little tune and it caught my ear.
