It's a great place though with lots of potential; it needs mostly cosmetic stuff like paint and carpet/flooring, but getting it all prepped first is a big chore!
Anyway, we will soon be discontinuing our internet service for a while so it's not constantly tempting me to get distracted, :nc: and since watching TV is my hubby's weakness, we'll be stopping our satellite service as well. Hopefully it won't be for too long since we'll both be going through major withdrawal! :smt119 :smt120

But I just wanted to let everyone know in case I suddenly disappear that I'm not ignoring you.

But you WILL be ignoring us ... all for a good reason, of course.

Congratulations on the house, and good luck on the decorating. I'm on my 4th house, and after 3 years, I haven't done much to bring it up to speed. Don't follow my example. It's always easier to get things done early rather than later.

Have fun!

Congratulations on the house!!!! *highfive* That sounds wonderful! A lot of work, but worth it :)

I'll really miss you - with you gone, and Sponge not around, I might decide to take off for a bit, too ... you two are some of the best posters - you guys really listened and thought instead of just offering standard responses. Hope to see both of you back soon!

Thanks, Rian! Yes it is going to be a LOT of work, but well worth it! I'm going to miss you (as well as Spongebob) too and hope not to be away too long; and I'll be checking my email as often as possible whenever I get access to a computer.

Thanks, NHB! The only way I can hope not to follow your example is if I don't have this darn computer distracting me! Well hopefully I'll stay focused and get it done quickly!

*waves weakly*

Hi people! Just had a post-op today, and the doc took off the wrappings - my foot looks like a multi-colored stuffed sausage with railroad tracks, but the doc is quite happy with it. Not up to chat yet - just wanted to send in a quick hello.

And as far as the thread topic - I'm VERY happy that I have such wonderful parents and parents-in-law that are willing to come out and help - I'm very immobile still. I'm down to only one pain pill at night, which also makes me happy.

Applied for a job with a local sports franchise recently. Discovered today that a good friend is well acquainted with the hiring manager and is willing to put in a good word for me. After five months of sending out resumes with no response, I may finally have a glimmer of hope!

Those of you who pray, please do so for me. Those of you who don't, please cross your fingers or think happy thoughts, or whatever it is that atheists do.

Oh, there's a story there.

The old one was about 25 years old; a hand-me-down from my grandparents. A couple of months ago, we had some pretty extreme hot weather (I don' t know if you heard about the bush fires; we could see smoke plumes from our front door) plus some rolling blackouts all at once.

Anyway, the fridge part stopped working at full capacity, while the freezer part still worked. We'd just bought a new couch, so we couldn't afford a new fridge straight away. We ended up filling the crisper with ice and changing it every few days for about six weeks.

So now, we have a new couch and a new refrigerator. Double reason to be happy.

Good luck, I hope it goes well for you!
