Civ V out tomorrow - so much for my deadlines this month.

I cannot say that I am "a gamer" of that sort. I have my collection of PC games. I have enjoyed one of the Civ games and Sid Meyer's Alpha Centauri a bit more. But I rarely play computer games out to their finish or spend much time playing others online. I love board/card games as well and have a huge collection. Me and my youngest have started a game of Risk, Godstorm. With a love for film and books as well, I guess I have a lot interests into which to divide my time.

However my biggest hobby that takes the vast majority of my time is programming and my latest projects have been making mods for Neverwinter Nights. I have always loved making computer games more than playing them, I guess.

I'm really into the Left 4 Dead games right now...but, you'll often find me playing the following when time allows:

Monkey Island Series
Star Wars Battlefront
Star Wars Empire at War
Company of Heroes

Halo! Not only can you shoot aliens with your guns, you can use said guns to whack 'em over the head! But most recently my husband and I finished working though "Baldur's Gate II: Dark Alliance" for Xbox.

This Christmas, I have introduced my five year old to Diablo II and Starcraft multiplayer on our home network. Meanwhile my two older boys ages 15 and 16 play Starcraft 2 a lot -- a game which I, with my older computer haven't even tried yet.

I still like the old 80's arcade games more than anything. My kids have a Wii and I play some of those games with them. Well, they call them games, but dancing seems more like a workout to me.

I played Starcraft: Brood War from 1998 until Starcraft 2 came out this year. If you ever get on SC2 look me up--I'm on the North America servers. My name is ZergFerguson and my ID number is 977. I'm pretty good--diamond 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3; platinum 4v4.

My favorite PC game was and still is Lucasarts "Outlaws". It's old but the music is great and the story line, characters and art work faithfully recreate that old spaghetti western style of myth that I enjoy so well. My next favorite PC game was an old version of Speed Racer, the Challenge of Racer X just because I'm a big fan of the old cartoon series and the game was pleasantly goofy. Finally, my wife and I like to play Scrabble on the PC.

We moved away from PC games when we purchased video game systems. My favorite ones are the Red Dead Revolver series and the MX vs ATV franchise. I enjoy playing Wii Sports (esp. tennis and bowling), Guitar Hero, Rock Band and Dance Dance Revolution because they work well with parties especially if the adults have had a nip or two. Lots of laughs.

In arcade games, my favorites were the 194x style of games. There was one where you started with a WW1 fighter and as you advanced, your airplane was upgraded to the next level until you were fighting in space. I don't remember the name but I'm guessing it was developed by Capcom because it looked so much like the 1942 and 1943 games that they made.
When the faithful dies so faithfully does his god. The silent angel or tarnished symbol now watches over the silent faith which once burned so brightly upon the earth and is and ever shall remain extinguished here beneath our feet.

Not really a gamer but a "simmer" here. I love car racing sims, GTR2, iRacing.com, rFactor. Always wanted to be a race car driver. But I am also awaiting the new combat sim from the creator of IL2, one of the best combat flight sims of all time.

Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time for the 64! That is the best game ever. And super smash brothers for the 64. I'm not sure how many hours I have spent playing that with my friends. And of course the Halo's. I love sniping and swat and using the battle rifle for head shots, its great and I can play with my younger brother online. I also really liked saving that girl in Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic for Xbox, for some reason that gave me a lot of satisfaction and I still remember it even though it was many years ago. I also liked The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind on Xbox and spent many hours beating the crap out of that. As for computer games I really like Empire Earth, the first one. And the Warcraft games, especially the first one, and Starcraft 1, but I never got into WoW. Lately I've been playing angry birds and cut the rope on my phone.

Oh man, Ocarina of Time was such a good game. Not terribly complicated, just awesome. I myself attribute a good deal of the game's lovability to the sound effects and music. Speaking of music, I ADORE that they created a Gregorian chant sounding theme for Halo. The other themes are catchy too. I recently read that a chamber orchestra in Seattle (where I'm from) recorded the live tracks for that game. Yeah Seattle! More than grunge!
